Here were some of the ideas generated in my group on Sunday:
Benefits of study: increase in communication, setting for feedback, different groups one objective, place to rest and study, unified, bearing each other's burdens
What hindrances do we need to throw off: burden of past, worldly view, financial worries, a "we can't" attitude
Next step ideas:
not venue for activity but for relationships
setting for being loved, growing, and being honest with themselves and others
keep it real
focus on Scriptures
community music club
objective evaluation process to get honest feedback
spiritual gifts evaluation
hurts/healing ministry
youth participate/lead services
deliberate intergenerational activity in VBS
opportunities on other days
outreach training/specific ministry training
becoming model not just voice
On Saturday we will try to put all of our groups' input together and come up with a coherent next step

PYRO - March 31, 2009
Led by Juliette
I borrowed Louisemarie's idea to have them write ideas on post-its. :)
I'll indicate which answers were mine just fyi.
Benefits from the Vision Study:
- enlightened us on what's going on around us
- Understanding, connection, sense of openness
- learning to see things from an adult's point of view
- youth interaction with different generations through game night and cleaning the youth room. Got to see how alike & different people of different generations are. The church is becoming a real church united and understanding of generations.
- (my answers) Learning how generations can interact and learn from each other, and spending time with the PYRO group and getting to know them better
Next Step for Peace:
- Finding more ways to interact with the community (try to get more people to Him). The question is how?
- Using connections to affect others (VBS), involving youth into the sermon and lessons.
- Doing something big together (wall mural?)
- Continue doing inter-generational activities (game nights, etc.)
- (my answer) Prayer partners (adults and youth)
Vision/Goal of Peace:
- F.U.N. (Patrick had some song that explained what the letters stand for...something like "fellowship," "U and me," and I forget what the 'N' was for.
- Helping influence people's lives through Jesus
- Being different to attract new members (in a good way).
- (my answer) Being a family of all ages, growing in faith together.
