Welcome Vision Study Leaders

This blog has been created by Ryan for the Vision Study leaders to post their notes from each week's study. I will post Week 1 and then each of you can post your own by clicking on the word "comment" at the bottom of the text. You can post as Anonymous and then write your name at the bottom of your reply. If you have questions please call me or e-mail me. The point of this is for us to share resources before we meet on Saturdays to discuss. Thanks for leading and enjoy the sharing.

From the Monday night study review of healing and reconciliation: that not avoiding conflict is biblical, that we can learn to utilize our hurts towards something positive, with trust in fellow christians that we should not be afraid to say "something" with out fear of reprisal.

Skills we may have or need to develop might include listening, respect for other points of view, humility, validation of emotional state, no agenda, commitment to the individual.

No specific needs were identified from this meeting but the knowledge that we don't know was prevalent with a couple of suggestions: have a "Big Brother" attitude (i.e. what to THEY want or need), find out what resources are available in our neighborhood.

Mission/Outreach ideas: remove the berm signage, prepared meals for the hungry, phone in message for what the church is about, hand out cards/door hangers, upgrade OC to youth center, volunteer at existing community help centers, tutoring, connect youth to older generation at church by encouraging elderly help.

To practice we need to be aware that ALL are even with respect to deserving God's Grace. Try to reflect Jesus behavior to others. Mission to each other (reconcile after differences) Show genuine care and concern for others physical, mental, and spiritual well being.
